AIRASIA X TO FLY TO BUSAN, 2ND LARGEST CITY IN KOREA

Happy Tuesday everyone!
I’m in Seoul, Korea now for the launch of AirAsia X latest international route from Kuala Lumpur to Busan, the airline’s 2^nd destination after Seoul in Korea, and the 1st direct flight connecting the two cities.

AirAsia X will commence services and fly direct to Gimhae International Airport, Busan from 15 July 2013 onwards with 4 weekly flights between Kuala Lumpur and Busan.

The timetable of the flights are as follows:

1-Monday, 2- Tuesday, 3- Wednesday, 4- Thursday, 5- Friday, 6-Saturday, 7-Sunday

To mark the opening for sale of the new route, AirAsia X is offering an unbelievable promotional all-in fare from as low as MYR199* (KRW60, 000*) on Economy, and from as low as MYR699* (KRW349, 000*) on our Premium Flatbed between Kuala Lumpur and Busan one way.
Fares are available online for booking from 17 (Time: 00:00 Malaysia/0:100 Korea) to 28 April, 2013 for travel between 15 July 2013 and 30 April, 2014.

Azran Osman-Rani, Chief Executive Officer, AirAsia X, said “AirAsia X’s entry into Busan is in line with our stated strategy of adding flight frequencies and destinations to a few priority Asia Pacific markets, like Korea. We believe that our entry will stimulate new travel demands from the city and its surrounding regions.
We estimate that more than 60 per cent of AirAsia X passengers to and from Busan will be first time visitors, which will contribute significantly to tourism growth, allowing AirAsia X the opportunity to open up new market segments from Malaysia and Busan with its affordable fares and use Busan as a gateway to beautiful Jeju Island which is only an hour away by flight. ”

The AirAsia brand is already present in Busan with AirAsia Japan’s flight from Busan to Tokyo. This service also enables AirAsia X passengers to visit both destinations: Tokyo and Busan, flying from Kuala Lumpur to one city and flying back from another city.

Guests may also opt for AAX’s Fly-thru services from Busan, offering connections to AAX’s strong feeder network from as low as KRW88,900* to Australia (Perth, Melbourne, Gold Coast, Sydney), Indonesia (Medan, Surabaya, Bali, Jakarta), Thailand (Bangkok, Phuket) Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh), Malaysia (Langkawi, Penang, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching), Singapore and vice versa.
The Flu-thru service allows passengers to seamlessly purchase two flight sectors and connect via Kuala Lumpur. Same booking and travel period applies for our Fly-Thru promotion.

With over 3.6 million people, Busan is the second largest city and the number 1 trading port in Korea. Busan’s most charming tourist point is its beautiful sea vistas. Other attractions include the beach areas, islands, and Hae Ahn Park coupled with historical ruins and sites, and Dongnae Shrine.
The natural beauty of Busan is a perfect example of harmony between mountains, rivers and sea which provides excellent hiking and hot springs activities throughout the city.
