Many friends and followers of my social sites had impressed interest on the new DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Penang when I posted pictures of myself at the press conference last Monday.
Most asked for pictures, as they were curious of how it would look like.
Well, thing is, the resort isn’t ready yet!
I haven’t been to the site myself, as the hotel is only due to be completed end of this year.
However, we did get sneak peeks, and below are some of the images I have to share.
The facade will be as you see above. The DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Penang takes over the site of the former Hydro Majestic Hotel.
Some of my Penangite friends speculated that it might look and have the same layout as the previous hotel, but from what I’ve learnt the building had undergone an extensive refurbishment of its public areas, rooms and suites so we can certainly look forward to a brand new experience.
Anyhow, I’m looking forward to staying here once it is ready. I had initially thought we were staying here for this visit!

DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Penang is proudly the FIRST first Hilton branded resort in Malaysia.
For the uninitiated, let it be known that a Malaysia Hilton branded RESORT is different from Hilton branded HOTEL, in case u are confused as to how it is a “first ” since we have 2 Hiltons & also a DoubleTree in KL and Johor.
The DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Penang will have 318 rooms on 13 floors with 192 parking bays.
It is a family themed resort with a Sand Lounge (artificial beach), Kids Zone & Water Park as well as a TeddyVille; Malaysia’s 1st teddy bear museum.
As the resort is located at Batu Feringghi, most of its rooms are sea-facing.
Not forgetting the discerning business travellers, the hotel offers meeting and function spaces as well.
